Birthdays Are Sweet

Hi Everyone!!!  Wow, did I take a little break or what!!  It has been a weird summer.  I have had two heart ablations this summer as they try to fix my wild and crazy beating heart.  Sadly they both failed but the new meds I am taking have calmed my heart rate down so that is GOOD news!  Anywhoo, I am back making cards.  GEE, I Have really gotten behind in my Birthday cards and even resorted to sending some I didn't make (sigh).   I was looking through my many Cricut Cartridges the other day and have decided that I will try and make a card from each one.  Kind of a little mission I am sending myself on.  So this first one is from the Freshly Picked Cart with a little help from the Flower Shoppe Cart.  Here it is:

It turned out so cute!  The wonderful papers are from Colorbok, Ink from VersaMagic, Twine from the Twinery Pearls from Jolee and the font is Pea Amy with my original poem.  Don't you love the look of the polkadot paper going all across the inside.  I might start doing this for all my cards as I think it really adds something extra.  I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Here's looking forward to a fabulous Fall with my wonderful blogger friends.  Be safe out there!

All the papers were from Colorbok (love them)!!  I used cartridges Elegant Edges and Everyday Pop up Cards.  There is also green organza ribbon, paper doily, pearls, ink in Tea Leaves,  one rhinestone and my own verse using the Keira font.  I am always amazed at how few supplies it takes to turn out a beautiful card!  I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Tiny Bubbles Father's Day

Hi Again, here is card number 2 for Father's Day!  This is the one I made my sweet hubby (just the best husband and father in the world!)  I decided to carry on the fishing theme and loved this fish jumping out of the water!

Isn't this a fun card?  I used my Cuttlebug and Tiny Bubbles folder to emboss the little circles..My husband said it looked and felt kinda like a basketball, lol...I was going for water bubbles.  I used my Wildlife cricut cartridge and the Wrap It Up Cartridge for the tag on the front.  Paper is Kraft and Core-dinations, Caribbean Baker's twine, 2 rhinestones and the font is Kiera.  The sentiment on the inside is mine! I am entering this in the following challenges:
Thanks for stopping by, I really enjoy your comments and friendship!  Happy Summer!!

Father's Day

Ya, I am slow!!!  It's been crazy at my house since the end of May, but hopefully things will ease out so I can get a few more cards done! I am finally getting my two Father's day cards on here although I have missed most of the challenges (sigh).  Well, at least I got my cards finished and handed out ON Father's day.  First up is the Card I made for my Dad.  He LOVES to fish!

Cute, huh!  I used The Cricut Wildlife Cartridge, Paper from My Mind's Eye, Kraft, and Coredinations, Jumbo Java Ink, Jolee's Rhinestones (I thought it needed a little bling even if it was a masculine card) and Robin's Nest dew glass for the eye (it looked so REAL) I cut the fish out twice so I could glue one on the backside and then placed the sentiments.  I am entering this card in More than favors Wacky Wednesday #72 - Fathers Day - that was about the only one left, lol.  Hope you all had a super Father's Day! Be safe out there this summer!

Easter in Pastels

Hello My Friends!  It is April 6th and I have 3 inches of snow outside that fell last night!  Looks like a soggy Easter Egg hunt again this year.  Gee Whiz, I Finally got an Easter card done!!!  Maybe I have drug my feet because I have never really sent out any Easter Cards.  This card is formed around some Easter subway art I found on the web that you could download...just can't for the life of me remember where I found it.  There is so much wonderful stuff out there to enjoy!  Here is the card:

I really enjoy working with pastel papers and they are the epitome of Spring.   I used the Elegant Edges Cricut Cartridge.  This fab cartridge is a staple for my cricut and I use it a lot.   This lovely paper is from colorbok,  Rhinestones from Recollections, Dragonfly from K & Co., Versamagic ink, green grosgrain ribbon and the font inside is Amaze.  Pretty simple!  Here's wishing ALL of you a wonderful Easter and lovely warm spring weather!  This card has been entered in the following challenges:

Sweet Sympathy Butterfly Card

This is my THIRD card this week. What has gotten into me? Hehehe, just am enjoying playing in my craft room too much! Maybe I better put this energy into my laundry....naw, I'd rather play with paper!  I wanted to finally try a sketch challenge (I have been chicken about this) and I found it made making decisions SO much easier!  So, I guess I will try more.  This sketch is from a Challenge at The Sweetest Thing - Sweet Sunday Sketch #154.  Here is my interpretation of it:

My wonderful Cuttlebug was very useful for this card as I used two different folders-the Swiss Dots, and the little flowers that came with my bug.  Paper by  Cloud 9 (love the stripe); my own crinkle ribbon in Hint of Pesto and Versa Magic ink.  The Stripe ribbon and flat lace are from my odds and ends box, The beautiful butterfly is from K & Company.  This card is entered in the following challenges:
Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Ch#160 - Lace and Scallops
(There are scallops on the lace, Promise!)
I am looking forward to Spring.  The weather has been in the 60's here this week and my little spring flowers are starting to bud.  Soon my daffodils will be up...Ahhh bring on Spring!

Feminine St. Patty's Day

Well, as promised, here is the 'other' St. Patty's Day card.  I went a different direction with this one and wanted a softer, feminine card.  It's for my sweet sister whose Anniversary is also the day before St. Patrick's Day.  Hope you like it:

I love the background paper on this one, it is from K & Company, and I must admit I hoard it and save every little scrap, I love it!  I also used Kraft paper, the green is a Jim Holtz & Ranger paper.  Also used a small heart punch for the shamrock, Versamagic Ink in gingerbread, Recollection Pearls and boarder punch, my own crinkle ribbon in pumpkin spice and the font is Chisel.  I am entering this card in the following challenges:
This is the end of  St Patrick Day cards for this year. Everyone have a good one and don't forget to wear GREEN!!  I am always happy to have new followers  and I adore the ones I do have!  HUGS!

St. Patty's Day

WOOHOO, I finally got a couple of  St. Patrick's Day Cards done! I have really been ignoring my craft room lately and that just HAS to STOP!!  I wanted to make a card from some of the St. Patrick's Day Printables I have found around the web and here it is.

I think it turned out kinda cute considering I used printables.  The Banner and Hat printables are from Chicabug.com, Paper from Coredinations, Baker's Twine in Charcoal and Peapod, Black organza ribbon, Metal dots and tiny rhinestones from Heidi Grace, Versamagic ink in midnight black, Shamrocks on the inside from Recollections, two silver metal eyelets, and the font I used is Chisel.  Easy huh!  Putting the banner together was the hardest thing I did.  I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Hope you all are having a GREAT St. Patty's Day week and party with the green come Saturday!

Memorable Moments

Hi Everyone :)  It is snowing outside and I just want to cuddle down with a blanket and some cocoa, but want to get a new card on here first.  This is a simple, sweet card with a sentiment that I have loved for a long time.  Here it is:

This card was made completely from my scrap stash.  I ALWAYS go there before I start a card to see what I can use....Gee you would think my scrap pile would go DOWN!  The papers are from My Mind's Eye Antique Dots book ( LOVE that book of paper), Kraft and coredinations.  I used my Elegant Edges Cricut Cartridge for the circles. Recollections pearls and their edge punch for the lace edging.  The edging is topped off with some of my lovely Earth Brown ribbon.  Versamagic Ink in Jumbo Java was used to edge everything.  Font used is Franklin Gothic Book.  This card is entered in the following challenges:
Hope your week has gone well for you.  Wouldn't you know it, just as spring is about to arrive, the snow arrives instead.  March might be a LONG month!  Thanks for visiting and see you soon.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TREE

GREETINGS! Hope I am finding you well!  I know I am feeling a bit better although the head cold wants to linger on - dang!  Thanks for the sweet get well comments, I have THE BEST blogger friends!  Anyway, on to some business...My dear Brother in Law's birthday is this Saturday so I had to get a card done for him.  He is leaving for Mongolia, yes that's right Mongolia, to work for the next two years.  It is a great opportunity for him and his family but we will sure miss him, especially my sis.  Here is his card:

This was a super fun card to make.  I Used the Cricut Damask Decor cart for the card cutout.  You wouldn't necessarily go to this cart as most of the cuts are really fancy, but at the bottom of the cart are some great card cutouts like this tree.  The Cartridge only cuts out the front so I cut the back of the card to match.   My  Cuttlebug is such a fantastic find I love it! I used the 'happy birthday' embossing folder for the cuttlebug before I glued on the tree, then inked the embossed words in Versamagic Jumbo Java ink.  Cardstock is from Kraft, Core-dinations and the green is from the Robin's Nest.  3 Little Heidi Grace buttons complete the decor and I used the font: Bradley Hand ITC for the sentiment.  I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Hope you have had a wonderful February this past month! Spring is just around the corner!  thanks for dropping by and sharing my papercrafting journey.  Hugs to you all!

Flu, Flu go away!

Yes, I have been chanting this since last week, but to no avail. This week I feel  just as rotten!  Hate this yucky stuff going around.  My sweet hubby had it for over 2 weeks and now it is my turn.  Sorry, I have not got anything on here, but hopefully I can drag myself to the craft room this week! Hope you are all well out there, my friends!  Visit with you soon and STAY WELL, ok?  HUGS!

Loved you Yesterday, Love you Still

Hi Good Friends and Paper Craftin' Addicts ( like me;)  It is a rainy, overcast day here in the Rocky Mountains and a good time to stay in and play!  I have FINALLY colored my first digi.  Not sure if this is my thing lol, but I gave it a good try!  So here is another Valentine for you, but I think it would also be great for an Anniversary card...

The lovely ladies at Nutcrafters supplied a digi for their currant challenge for everyone to use. It is such a sweet couple, don't you think.  The background heart paper is from K & Company, cardstock from Coredinations, I used the scalloped heart from the Cricut Wedding cartridge (it is an older cart), and Swiss Dots cuttlebug embossing folder.  The crinkle ribbon is my own hand dyed creation, A sweet doily underneath, Ink is Pink Petunia from Versamagic, 2 different colored heart buttons and the font is Pea Amy.  I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Thanks for stopping by and visiting for a bit!  I am gonna try to get one more valentine done this week as there are SO many wonderful challenges out there in blogland!  Hope this week is going great for all of you...Here's a Hug full of Hearts for you!!!

Heart on a String

Hi Friends!  Have another Valentine card for you, though truth be told I may use it for my Wedding Anniversary that is coming up on Feb. 8th.  It will depend on what else I make between then and now lol.  I seem to be in love with Baker's Twine at the moment and just LOVE that Twinery Twine! Take a look:

I used my new Cricut Cartridge 'Everyday Pop Up Cards' for the hanging hearts. What a fun cart, I really need to explore it more.  The Twinery Baker's Twine is in Charcoal and Maraschino, Cardstock Coredinations, Dot paper is My Mind's Eye Antique Dots, The metal love heart charm I found at Michael's in the wedding aisle. I cut off the jump ring and glued it to the center of my heart.  Jolee's Boutique are the jewels, two metal eyelets, Versamagic Black Ink,a small and smaller generic heart punch, and the digi font is 'Pea Amy' that I found online!  I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Wintery Thinking of you

A neighbor of ours lost his mother this last week, so I wanted to make a sympathy card.  There are a few  wintery and blue and white challenges out there so I put a winter spin on it and really liked how it turned out.  Here it is:

I used a new Cricut Lite cartridge titled "Wildlife" and LOVE IT.  It has just wildlife animals and a few words.  It is one they sell at Walmart.  I had been eyeing it for a while now and finally broke down and bought it.  I used some silver glitter paper behind the deer and dotted glitter glue on the white background.  Triad Leaves is the Sizzix folder for the embossing and Baker's twine from the Twinery,  in Denim.  The font is called Verdana.  I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Hope you are having a GREAT WEEK! Thanks to those who have been entering my Valentine's challenge! See you Soon!
