Adventures in Crinkle Ribbon

Well, I have been promising you a pic of all the crinkle ribbon I have been making!  So here it is!

Above are little samples and a close up of different shades of pink. The one in the middle I added a little black ink to the pink and I loved the result   Some looked shaded with varying hues, some looked quite antique, but all are beautiful and unique.  Looking at other blogs I realize my samples are super crinkled, but you can smooth them out with an iron and then spritz with water again and crinkle slightly!   I used all different kinds of ink-- from sprays, to stamp pads, to re-inkers and found they ALL work.  If you are interested in making your own crinkle ribbon there are LOTS of video's on You tube.  I watched 3 different ones and each gal did it a little differently.  When I get some larger pieces done I will give some away as blog candy, so keep coming back!  Love your comments and/or questions!  HUGS

Snowflakes and Sparkles

Hi there my friends and blogger buddies!  Gee, This month is getting away from me and I am so NOT ready for Christmas let alone the new year!  Hope you are getting your shopping, baking, cleaning, etc done...I have really been dragging my behind.  Many of the challenge sites are winding down for the holidays so maybe I can get a few more done.  Here is a fun, sparkly, snowflake card. Hope you enjoy it!

I got carried away with the silver glitter glue, way fun!  I used glitter paper from DCWV and blue cardstock from coredinations.  Cricut cartridge: Joys of the Season; Cuttlebug embossing folders: swiss dots and snowflakes. I dotted  Sliver glitter glue on the embossed snowflakes; and tied the ornament with white organza ribbon.  My sweet Sister Sharma wants me to start listing the fonts I use in my digi's so I will: the Joy is All Hail Julia font, the rest is Lynda Wide font.  I have entered this card in the following challenges:
Have a wonderful week and I will have to get a picture of my adventures in dyeing crinkle ribbon posted on here. Now you know why I haven't been making cards :)  Don't give up on me, Keep Following;  I LOVE to have you visit and comment! Here's a HUG!

Pinecone Thank you Card

Happy December!  We here in Utah just survived a massive wind storm.  We had no damage (thank goodness) just no power for a day.  Others were hit hard, hurricane force winds in the middle of the Rocky Mountains?? Crazy!  It is living with no electricity that I realize just how dependent I am.  I longingly looked at my powerless cricut while I  heated soup on top of my gas fireplace!  But all is well and the cleanup around the state continues.  Now the Christmas Season approaches and I find myself humbled by mother nature and grateful for family and friends like you!  So here is a sweet little Thank You Card!

I used Cricut Cartridge Joys of the Season, MME, Coredinations, and Kraft Paper, Versamagic ink in Spanish Olive, Bakers Twine in Cappucino, sparkly pinecone from K & Co. and bling flower from JoLee's Boutique. The stamp is just a generic one from my stash and the sentiment is my own.   I have entered this card in the following challenges:
My time Made Easy - Pretty Palette #37 (Olive Green, Ivory, Kraft)
(WOW I won the My time made easy challenge! WaHoo!
and WOW again this card also won Top 3 VIP in the Party Time Tuesday Challenge!!)
Have a Splendid weekend everyone!  I am spending it hand-dyeing CRINKLE RIBBON!! Woohoo! Look for it on future cards and projects and even a giveaway!!! HUGS....If you aren't following, HEY click that button and join in some fun!!!  LOVE to read your comments and what you are doing!

Blue Christmas

Hello friends!! Hope all of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving if you're here in the states.  It is always so comforting to have family, food and a fire going at Thanksgiving.  Just CAN'T understand why it takes around two days to prepare all the dishes, 20 minutes to eat, then a few hours of clean up....you've gotta wonder about the absurdity of such a thing! LOL...Well, I finally got a card made and have started on Christmas.  This sweet card is done in my favorite color combo (blue and white).  I have always been a lover of anything that is just these two colors.  My wedding china is blue and white and I still love it after all these years.  Enjoy!

I used just a few supplies:  Cricut Cartridge 'Joys of the Season' I used the snowflake pg. 60 and the Tree pg 63.  Cuttlebug folder - Snowflakes, VersaMagic ink in Aegean blue, Paper by K & company and Cordinations, and one little Heidi Grace button.  Pretty simple, huh?  I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Hope you all have a GREAT December and that the holiday spirit is in your heart and home! HUGS

Happy Thanksgiving Card

Autumn Blessings Everyone!  Such beautiful weather today, chilly but blue skies.  My Trees have finally all turned, and in fact, are getting a bit bare.  Ahh Christmas will be here before we can turn around, thus, this is the end of the Thanksgiving cards.  I found the prettiest, glittery pine cone from K & Co. so I just HAD to us it!  Enjoy!

The Cricut Cartridges I used were Elegant Edges and Flower Shoppe.  Love BOTH these wonderful carts!  Bling is from K & Company and Jolee's Boutique, Paper from MME and Coredinations, VersaMagic Ink in Pumpkin spice, Gingerbread and Brick Red, Zig Marker in Brown for dots and a digi Sentiment ( I borrowed this sentiment.)  I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Have a wonderful rest of your week and hopefully I'll get another card on here.  There are just so many fabulous challenges to work on...The fun never ends in blogland! Hugs to you All!

Thanksgiving Card - Acorn

I guess I need to get a couple of Thanksgiving cards in the mail so have been feverishly working on that.  This card was inspired by one of my favorite Thanksgiving Hymns: For the Beauty of the Earth.  It is just a lovely song with a sweet thankful meaning.  I love the earth I live on..it's beauty is breathtaking everyday.  I have two beautiful trees outside my bedroom window that are gorgeous no matter what the season, but especially lovely in the fall.  Hope you enjoy this season and this card!

I used papers from Kraft, Core'dinations, DCSV, and MME.  Cricut Cartridge: Give a Hoot for the leaves;  Twine in Honeydew, Mandarin, and Cappuccino; VersaMagic ink in Jumbo Java; Jolee's Boutique for the acorn (don't you love the stitching on it) and the bling inside.  I am entering this card in the following challenges:
I realize that is quite a list, but everyone is in the Thanksgiving mood!  Thanks from dropping by.  I appreciate all the lovely comments. If you are not a follower...hey come follow my blog, I want to get to know each and everyone of you!  HUGS

60th Anniversary Card and Guest Designer

My wonderful parents are celebrating their 60th,  November 2nd.  That they are both here with us and in good health is truly a blessing.   Along with my parent's Anniversary , I am also a Guest Designer for TRY IT ON TUESDAYS, for the week starting November 1st. The Challenge is Unique Shaped Cards so be sure to stop by for a look see and experience this wonderful blog.  The sponser of this challenge is One Stop Card Crafts, so also go see their great products.  Here is my unique shaped card.  I made a Criss Cross fold card.

It is amazing how few products I used.  I used Cricut Cartridges Elegant Edges and Happily Ever After.  Paper is DCWV from their wonderful Glitter Stack and also from Coredinations.  Midnight Black Versamagic Ink, 3 ribbon roses, and 2 Jolee's Jewels.  The poem is my original creation and don't you just love the black and white photo of my folks on their wedding day?  My mom made the wedding gown herself.  It was so lovely and then she let my sisters and I play dress up in it when we were little...Mom, what were you thinking!!!   Thanks for viewing and visiting with me awhile! HUGS to you all.

Finally, the last Halloween Card this season!

Why is it the the week leading up to Halloween is so crazy!! It use to just be the week before Christmas, but now it is Christmas, Thanksgiving and Halloween...well at least at my house.  I didn't think I would get a card on here, but I needed just one more for my Bro-in-law's birthday.  Hope you like it.

I like how masculine it looks even though it is Halloween in spirit.  I didn't use many supplies: Cartridge is Elegant Edges; Paper from Recollections, Kraft and MME (love my MME Antique dots stack); Twine in charcoal and honeydew; Versamagic ink in Midnight Black and 8 metal dots.
Pretty easy huh!  I am entering this card in the following challenges:
There you go, now If  I don't get back on here before Halloween, everyone have a WONDERFUL, SPOOKY GOOD TIME!  And just remember, There is NO such thing as a Witch! Vampire's...well here's hoping :)))  HUGS!

Happy Harvest Card

Hello Everyone!  I tried something new today.  I made a card using the "book" feature on the Elegant Edges Cartridge.  I think it turned out kind of cool, but since this type of card is harder to open I don't think I will be making a lot of them.  You have to leave your binding material ( twine, ribbon etc) loose enough so you can open the card.  I was going to use ribbon but the twine makes it much easier to open.  So have a look and tell me what you think!

I am loving my new Elegant Edges Cartridge.  I use to have to hunt through my cartridges for different shapes to layer, no more!!  I also used my Damask Decor Cart for the pumpkin.  Paper is by K & Company and Core'dinations.  Baker's Twine in Honeydew, Mandarin and Cappuccino.  I used VersaMagic ink in Gingerbread, 3 green buttons, 4 gold eyelets, and 1 Jolee's glitter flower.  I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Have a wonderful weekend everyone and hope you can all fit in some crafting along with your family fun time!  Love all your comments so much THANKS!! If you are not following, join us!

Kick Up Your Heels!!

Hi Everyone! Hope the week is treating you great.  Have a cute little Halloween Birthday card for you (and yes I am still a few short for all the Birthdays this month).  Hope you like it!!

I absolutely HATE, AND I MEAN HATE, spiders! eeewwww!!!   Yesterday I was in the shower and looked down and got OUT soaking wet.  There was a big black one trying to get away from the water, so Happy Halloween to me I guess!  I used a new cricut cart I just got - Elegant Edges.  I can tell I will be using that baby a lot!!  Also used plantin schoolbook, and Happy Hauntings cartridges.  Paper is by DCWV, MME, Recollections and Core'dinations.  Charcoal Bakers Twine (love it),  Black Braided Trim, Versa Magic Ink in Midnight Black and Pumpkin spice.  Last is my own digi poem and sentiment.  I am entering this card in the following challenges:
WHEW!  I usually don't have that many that go with one card.  Hope everyone's Halloween plans are coming along nicely.  Take care and talk to you soon!

A Deer Huntin' Tale

Well, the Deer Hunt starts this weekend in Utah.  My Hubby took me deer hunting before he put a ring on my finger...a wicked test for any women.  I must have done ok, because we've been married for 36 wonderful years; (and I only had to deer hunt for a few of them!)  So, Here is my ode to the deer hunt.  I hope you enjoy it as much as I did creating this crazy poem and card.

This was a hoot to write and create.  I used Cricut Cartridges: Niftie Fifties for the pickup, and Old West for the shovel and rifle.   Paper is that wonderful Kraft Cardstock along with coredinations, The Robin's Nest, and MME.  Baker's Twine in cappuccino, VersaMagic Ink in Jumbo Java (wow, I use that color a LOT), 2 gold eyelets and my own original poem and sentiment!  Almost 98% of the sentiments and poems I use on my cards are my original work, so if you want to use any of it please contact me first!  This card is being entered in the following challenges:
Well, hope you enjoyed my tribute to hunting.  Glad at this point in life I am home where it is warm! And to any of you PETA members, my most humble apologies! Have a fun and safe weekend!

OCTOBER'S HERE Birthday Card

Hi Everyone! Hope your week has been going great.  My mind has been swirling with poems this week, so I made a couple of cards to get them out of my head!  LOL, sometimes I'm just wacky that way.  My Hubby keeps saying "Call Halmark", but this week I think "Shoebox cards" would be more appropriate! Here is a fun little birthday card that is Halloween inspired:

I found the cutest little cat stamp at michaels, for a buck-can you believe it!  So I made the card around it.  I used the Plantin School book cartridge for the circles. Paper by K & Co, Recollections, MME, and Coredinations.  Baker's Twine in Lilac, charcoal, mandarin and honeydew; VersaMagic ink in Midnight black; one Heidi Grace metal dot, zots, and my own Original poem.  This card is being entered in the following challenges:
So Many fun challenges to join.  Just love how much creativity there is out there in Blogland! And YOU all are part of that wonderful creativity!  Next up, I am posting a Hunting Card with a very fun poem...so take a look!  HUGS to you all!

There's no such thing as a Witch!

Hi Again,  now on to the next card.  I love the witch hat card in the Cricut Mini Monsters cartridge. My dear friend Kellie from Kards by Kellie has made it this week too so check out her cute version. Mini Monsters is just so bewitchingly fabulous!  This hat card reminded me of a song I learned when I was a grade schooler oh so many years ago LOL:
"When you're all alone in the country, and the night is black as pitch;  just Laugh Ho, Ho, because you know There's No such thing as a Witch"  Such a fun song to sing...maybe some of you learned it too.  Here is the card:

FUN, FUN card to make!  I can't believe I was brave enough to hand print the sentiments.  I must have been bonkers!!! BUT....I was relieved it turned out pretty good.  I used paper from Recollections, DCWV, Coredinations, and glitter paper in orange and purple.   Charcoal twine; eggplant and midnight black VersaMagic ink; Cricut cart mini monsters; white gel pen and Jolee's Boutique jewels.  I am entering this card in the following challenges:
So glad you stopped by today to view my two latest creations.  Is there anything greater than being able to create and express yourself??? I can only think of one, YOU, my super followers!  HUGS

The Dry Bone Birthday Boogie!

Happy October everyone!  It actually SNOWED here in the rocky mountains last night and the mountains are lightly dusted with snow.  But BRRRR our temperature has dropped from the 80's last week to the 40's and 50's this week!!! I had to run outside and gather the rest of my tomatoes off the vine before they froze!  Crazy huh!  I finally got a couple of  Halloween inspired cards done.  It is so fun to work with the Halloween inspired papers!  Here is the first one:

The cute skeletons are a border from a Recollections Halloween paper.  The background is purple behind them, but it photographed kind of blue.  I used twine in charcoal, mandarin and lilac; Ink in midnight black; orange grosgrain ribbon to edge the skeletons; papers from Recollections, Paper Pizazz and Coredinations; Heidi Grace buttons and my own computer digi's for the sentiment.
This card is being entered into the following challenges:
Thanks for dropping in and another Halloween card is coming right up!  Come Follow and lets get to know each other!

Dotted Doily Celebration

Good Morning my fabulous followers and friends!  I was cleaning out my sewing cupboards a few days ago and ran across a sweet tiny, doily I had purchased when I used to make dolls (yes, I've pretty much done it all in craft land lol).  Kaboodle Doodles has a wonderful challenge going to use a doily, so SWEET...here is my card:

The Card is my favorite size A2 - 5 1/2 by  4 1/4.  I loved  planning the card around the doily and I think is just turned out sweet as can be.   I used a new paper stack I purchased at Hobby Lobby called 'Antique Dots' by  MME (My Mind's Eye).  This stack is totally FAB!  So many dotted papers to choose from and I went with pink and brown.  Used Kraft and Coredinations card stock, Offray Organza Brown ribbon, a fabric covered button, The word 'celebrate' is cut using the Cricut Cartridge 'Straight From the Nest' and, of course, the crochet lace doily.   Inside I used a brown button, bakers twine and my own computer digi.   I am entering this card in the following challenges:
I love this blogger paper craft world and all of you for making me feel welcome! God Bless you all and have the best month of OCTOBER you've ever had!!  Thanks for stopping by! PS! Wahoo, this card won at Die Cuttin Divas!!!

WOW,  I have hit 100 followers!!! Thanks SO MUCH everyone..and welcome to you newbies, I am loving you all.  Each one of you are special and I enjoy getting to know you better.  So keep coming back to chat!  Today I made a card for my dear nephew who recently joined the Navy.  He will complete his basics in a week or so, so I have got to get this in the mail toot sweet!!  Here is his card:

 Card is 5 1/2 by 4 1/4

I actually did not use my Cricut for this card, shocker, I know!  The paper and card stock were just some scraps in my scrap bin so I have no idea who produced them.  I used Twine in Maraschino and Denim; 3 gold star buttons from my button stash...so happy to find them; Offray ribbon; and the digi sentiment is mine.  Was a pretty low maintenance card.  I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Have a GREAT Evening or Day and Thanks again for your wonderful comments and friendship.

Autumn Leaf Card

It's another gorgeous day here in the Wasatch Mountains.  The leaves are starting to turn and the air is warm with just that touch of Fall crispness.  It's a great time to do fall cards and luckily there are many challenges out there with that theme.  Here is a little fall beauty I made last night:

Card is 5 1/2 by 4 1/4
I enjoyed using my orange dotted paper.  I was hard pressed thinking where I would ever want to use it, but I just loved the look of it in the background.  I used the Flower Shoppe Cricut Cartridge for the maple leaf;  paper by Recollections and Kraft cardstock;  VersaMagic Ink in Gingerbread, Jumbo Java, and Spanish Olive;  Paper studio ribbon, 2 eyelets, 1 button, and my own digi sentiments.    I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Striped Birtday Cake!

A couple of weeks ago I bought a DCWV pack of paper called 'Baby Boy'.  It has the most delicious colors of brown, blue, white and green and they all coordinate.  I've been aching to use it, so I did today!  LOVE IT!! So here is another birthday card for my kaboodles I need for October. I used the Criss Cross design; it is so versatile you can put any kind of cut in the pocket!

Card is 4 1/4 by 5 1/2
Don't you agree it is the funest paper!  I used very few supplies.  Paper was all from the DCWV Baby Boy stack, Cricut Cartridge - From My Kitchen (haven't used that one for a while);  Cuttlebug emboss swiss dot;   VersaMagic Ink in Jumbo Java;  Heidi Grace Metal dots and two brown buttons; and made the digi sentiment.   I have entered this card in the following challenges:
Hope you are having a great week and finding some time to craft..it is a great time of year for it!
Thanks as always for spending some of your precious time with me...YOU ARE THE BEST!!

Simple 4x4 thanks Card

How is everyone doing this week?  Hope you are all great! • Paper: DCWV, K & Company, Core'dinations Cardstock
  • JoLee's rhinestones, white gel pen for stitching

Birthday Green and Gold

Have you ever started on a card with a picture of exactly what you want in your mind and then - WHAM! What happened?  LOL, I knew I was going to use this beautiful Bird from the Cricut Cartridge "Straight From the Nest" (LOVE this Cart!!), but for some reason it went a different direction...and I like it!  I counted up the Birthdays that I need cards for in October and there was like 12 or so.  October is my busiest Birthday month, thus I am starting early and I DON"T want them all to be Halloween cards!

I have to admit I LOVE the branch on the second page!  You could really give this card to either sex, cause men and women both like to fluff out their feathers and preen a bit! Here is the recipe:
  • Cricut Carts: Straight from the Nest, Plantin Schoolbook
  • Paper from K&Company and Core'dinations
  • VersaMagic Ink-Spanish Olive, Distress Ink-Tie Dye
  • Bakers Twine,  Heidi Grace Rhinestones
I am entering this card in the following challenges:
  1. Fantabulous Cricut Ch Me Monday#74 - Birthday Bash
  2. Paper Playtime Ch#53 - Anything Goes
  3. Little Scrap Pieces - No Challenge, Challenge
Have a GREAT week everyone and thanks so much for spending your precious time with me!
