Z-Fold Shirt Card

This was the funnest card to make and it is completely Cricutless!!! GASP!  I know, I was shocked when I got done that I hadn't used it.  I had watched a cool video over at Cardz TV that demo-ed the cutest little shirts for Father's Day Cards.  I have seen these on various other sites but didn't know how on earth they made them.  They are super easy and the shirt is folded out of a 4 x 6 piece of paper.  I started making them out of scraps and had so many that I got the idea for this card....the original poem I made for this card really fit the many shirt varieties I had made.   I needed lots of room so made it into a Z-fold card which was perfect for this project:

This is the card folded out flat

This is the card  showing how the Z-fold works

Section one
Section two - the middle

 Section Three

The products I used are few and simple:
  • Cardstock from Core'dinations
  • Paper from K&Company, DCWV, Paper Adventures (used up some scraps hooray!)
  • Various stickers I have had for AGES!!!
  • Sentiment is my original work and done on the computer
  • metal buttons by Heidi Grace
That's pretty much all...very simple huh?  the hardest part of this card was getting the poem to fit on the pages (lol) and folding the first couple of shirts...after that  easy, breezy!  You can find this card in the following challenges:

Embossed Butterfly Birthday Card

This sweet, summery Birthday Card was made expressly for Birthday Sundaes CH# 13 - Embossed Birthday Card and for Shabby Tea Room Ch# 66 - Pink Lemonade.

I haven't used my brass embossing plates for many years so decided this was a great excuse to get them out  of the box and hand emboss a beautiful butterfly.  I am in the process of saving up for a Cuttlebug (can't wait to get one!) so had to emboss by hand.  I  thought it was hard to see the embossed butterfly so I lightly brushed some chalk ink over the top of it and LOVED the outcome...though I must admit I was holding my breath the whole time I did it!  Anyway, hope you like it too!  Here are the supplies I used:
  • Rhine stones on small butterflys by Heidi Grace
  • Cardstock is Core'dinations in Love Potion and plain beige
  • Floral paper is from Paper Adventures (Ivory Floral design)
  • Cricut Cartridge 'Wrap it Up' used for tag on page 47
  • Fiskars paper crimper on rose cardstock
  • Small butterfly punch by CARL
  • VersaMagic chalk ink in Perfect Plumeria and Spanish Olive
That's it!  Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a look!  I adore your comments and adore followers!

Tri-fold Father's Day Card

I found a video on-line that showed how to make this wonderful Tri-fold card.  The hardest part of this was getting the fold correct so the front would lay flat.  It took a while to figure it out but once I did I really loved the look.  There are many great tutorials out there in web land and I watched several  Just search "tri-fold cards" and many options will come up for you to look at.  I have to admit, the first spray glue I used "an Elmer's spray glue" did NOT work.  After a few days the paper sections started coming off.  I took all the paper back off the card and resprayed with my 3M paper safe spray glue (love it) and it has stayed tight with no hint of coming off!  Hooray!  Here is what I used on this card:
  • Cardstock: core'dinations in dark brown, patterned paper by K&Company (love their paper)
  • VersaMagic chalk ink in Jumbo Java
  • Ribbon...and one metal button by Heidi Grace
THAT'S IT!  That is why I said the hardest part was the folding!  This card has been entered in the following:
thanks for checking my blog out.  I am just happy I found a moment to get a card done this week!  Summer is crazy time, isn't it!!!   Have a great weekend everyone!   Would love your comments and more followers!

Cute Critters

This little card I whipped together pretty fast to get it into the My Craft Spot challenge#10 - Cute Critters.
I had been wanting to make a card with the 'slider' feature from the 'Straight From the Nest' cricut cartridge. It is such a fun feature as it allows you to slide ribbon or anthing else you want through the cut outs.  If I could go back and change something on this card it would be the lettering of the words. I would do them much smaller!  Gee, I don't usually want to change anything on my cards, but I have to be honest here! So, here it is:

Here are the particulars:
  • Paper:  cardstock from DCWV & Core'dinations; dot paper by DCWV (love this paper)
  • Cricut Cartridge:  Straight from the nest, owl on page 30
  • VersaMagic Chalk Ink in Gingerbread
  • Embellishments:  Rhinestones by JoLee's Boutique and Offray, Green 4/8" grosgrain ribbon
  • Words and sentiment done on the computer - the inspiration for the words came from the cricut cartridge I used.  The cartridge has so many wonderful sayings and they are cute as can be.
I have to tell you that I am really enjoying this cartridge.  I have only had it a week but it is so versatile and the designs are wonderful.  With the corner and slider features it has tons of uses.  Hope you enjoyed looking.  I am kinda maxed out today because I have done 4 cards this week and that is a record for me!  Have a good weekend everyone and THANKS to my WONDERFUL followers...you guys are the BEST!

Button Hat Card

This turned out to be a very sweet little card!  I had bought some dotted buttons and wanted to use them so went through my Cricut Cartridges and decided that Kate's ABC's was perfect for them.  I chose the hat on page 30 and love the result.  I have entered this card in the Shabby Tea Room #64 2-4-6 challenge.  That is you had to have 2 designer papers, 4 buttons, and 6 layers!  Whew that is a bunch of stuff!  It is also entered in the Sisterhood of Crafter's Button Box challenge!  Here is the card:

The Verse on this card is my own Original verse, so please don't use it for a challenge or selling.  But if you like it you can use it on a card to send someone - just please give me credit as the author!  Ok, here are the particulars of this sweetie:

Floral's Embellished flying Bird

This card is for a Bitten by the Bug's flying bird challenge where you had to use the flying Bird on the Floral's Embellished cricut cartridge.  I love this cartridge!  The many layers of each project just make this cart a favorite.  I also used my new Straight From the Nest Cartridge and absolutely fell in love with it.  Just the corner and slider features alone, make this a super fun cartridge.  Have a feeling I will be using it A LOT!!  Here are the particulars:
  • Card is 4 1/4 x 6
  • Cricut cartridges used:  Floral's Embellished - bird pg. 61,  Straight From the Nest - Phrase pg. 34, Corner pg. 35
  • Paper from K&Company and Coredinations
  • Bling: JoLee's boutique
  • Ribbon -sheer white sparkle
  • Ultra fine light sparkle glitter for the birds on the inside of card
One thing I always make sure I do, is on the inside of the card I make extra space at the bottom of the sentiment for adding my good wishes and name.  Also, on the very back of the card I put that it was created by me and my blog address!  Just something you might want to consider when making a card!  Thanks so much for taking time out of your life to visit my blog!  Would love your comments and would love to have you become a follower over on the right of my blog!  Have a great week!

Masculine Birthday Card

This card was made for a challenge over at Birthday Sundaes challenge #11, Wacky Wednesday ch# 40. It is always a bit more difficult to make a birthday card for a man!  For some reason they just don't want a cutsy card with lace and pearls!  So here is the card I came up with.

Ok, so it is kinda cutsy in a masculine sort of  way!  Most guys like the water, boats and of course a sunny day to just relax...so I think most guys would like it.  Here are the particulars:
  • card is 4 x 8
  • paper: dcwv for the dot paper, the cloud paper I am clueless as it's been in my stash a long time
  • cricut cartridge used  Life's a Beach - boat pg. 57, wave pg. 57, sun pg. 44
  • VersaMagic chalk ink in Aegean Blue
  • embellishments:  button - the paper co., red Baker's Twine, 3 metal buttons - Heidi Grace, pop dots for dimension on the boat, sun and words on front.
Hope you enjoyed the boat ride!  Thanks for taking time to look.  I love your comments and if the "follow" thing is working (lol) would love to have you for a follower!  Have a GREAT week!
