Caught a Bug?

I was looking thru my card box and couldn't believe I haven't made a "Get Well" card!!! For Shame!  There were a couple of  fun challenges going and I made a buggy get well card for them!  The Jar has an overlay of plastic vinyl  that is hard to see, but it makes it looks like a real jar!

 

This last picture is the very back of the card.  I have never shown what I put on the back so here it is.  I always make a matching color label with my blogspot address, then recipients can go check out my blog...GOOD IDEA!!!  Here is the product list for those who would like it:

Flower Shoppe FUN

HELLO YOU BLOGGER BUDDIES! Finally was able to play with my new Flower Shoppe Cricut Cartridge I had purchased over a month ago.  It is SO cool....I watched a few tutorials for this cartridge and that helps TONS.  Since I seemed to be heading in a masculine card direction the past few cards I made sure I went FEMALE for this.  I made it especially for a color challenge and the colors are Celery, Lavender and gray...just a beautiful combo!  Here it is:

 

 

This was so much fun to do, although the flower is time consuming.  I didn't use many supplies and the card is A2 (4 1/4 x 5 1/2).  I  Used only the Cricut flower shoppe cart, Paper by K & company and Core'dinations cardstock.  Sentiment done by computer and two lavender bling jewels.  That is all! Cruisin' on by...

I finally hobbled down to my craft/laundry room and worked on a card.  The hardest thing for me now is my eyesight.  I sustained a concussion and my right eye isn't focusing correctly so I get some double vision and when I move my head fast I get motion sick...yuk, BUT I got a card done!! Woohoo!  One of the challenges is for a clean and simple card so I had to restrain myself, dang!

 

 

This is another card that you could use for a masculine birthday.  Here are the supplies I used:

• Card is a 4 x 9 
• Cartridge: Pack your bags-ship pg 58 (cut everything at 3 1/2")
• K & Company print paper, Core'dinations Card stock
• Black & White Stripe Bakers Twine
• blue button on inside from Heidi Grace
• sentiments done on computer

Warm Wishes

First of all a GREAT BIG THANK YOU to Kellie from Kards by Kellie for giving me a "stinking cute" blog award!!! What a dear blogger friend she is so everyone go visit her wonderful blog!  Now on to a new card.  It's summer so here is my take on sunshine and blue skies:

 

 

I hadn't used my Country Life Cartridge since I had purchased it and it has so many cute graphics.  I love the sunshine coming up over the hill.  It is just so cheery and I also used the sheep from this cart because you NEED sheep grazing on a hillside!!  Another thing I like about this cartridge is the great alphabet and word selection.  They are also not as hard as some to cut out and keep in one piece.  I cut the words out at 1" and they hung together pretty well.  Here are my supplies:

• Country Life Cart: sunshine and hillside, sheep and words
• Paper by K&Company (jeepers I love their paper!)
• VersaMagic Chalk Ink and Distress ink in Antique linen
• Bakers Twine in black and white, 2 buttons
• Inside original words done on computer

Butter-flyte White

This is probably one of the easiest cards I have ever done.  WHY...because I didn't have to spend oodles of time choosing paper colors!!!  Our Creative Corner issued a challenge to do an ALL WHITE CARD.  Now I thought this would be extremely difficult, but in reality my cricut and cuttlebug did all the work and I just had to decide on what to cut!  I went to a favorite cartridge: Florals Embellished and loved the result.  Hope you do too!

I barely used any supplies, just two different white cardstocks, My Cuttlebug to emboss, my Cricut Cartridge Florals Embellished page 64:  words, shadow and silhouette features.   I finished it off  with 7 small JoLee's rhinestones.  Just couldn't have been easier.  Actually the hardest part was photographing an all white card.  If it wasn't for my Paint Shop Pro 8 program my pictures wouldn't be worth publishing.   This wonderful program helps restore the picture to the colors and clarity that it should be!  Hope you enjoy looking at it, thanks for coming over for a visit! BTW--I am REAL close to 50 followers please help me get over the hump!!! I will love you forever :)  HUGS!

Starfish Birthday Wish

I started this card for a challenge at Bitten by the Bug 2.  The challenge is to use the starfish in the "life is a Beach" cricut cartridge.  Now maybe an addicted card designer isn't suppose to admit that they had trouble, but BOY did I have trouble!!!  I just couldn't get a handle on what I really liked and made 2 cards in a row, which I then tossed out...uuurrrrrrrr!!!!!  I finally looked at the starfish page again and decided to use the starfish charm....ahhhh there is was, the zen place when I am making a card and everything is coming together.  So FINALLY  I was happy  :))   Here it is:

 

 

Actually, I think this would be a great card for a guy.  I loved the masculine look of the colors I chose and doing the starfish in brown really lends to that idea.  Here is the recipe:

• Cartridge - Life is a Beach--page 65--starfish charm
• paper - Green palm paper by Me and My Big Ideas, gold paper by K & Company
• Baker's twine in red and white stripe
• two 1/8" rivets for twine
• small yellow pearls for center of starfish on front
• orange button and bakers twine inside
• VersaMagic chalk ink for edges of paper
• Computer for all sentiments

"Come Live With Me" Anniversary Card

Hooray!  I finally got a new card made...summer is seriously messing with my crafting time!  This easy little square card was created because I had been thinking of the Poem by Christopher Marlowe..you know, it starts "Come live with me and be my love"...anyway I have always loved the first two lines and decided it would be great on an Anniversary card...so, here it is:

 

I had just bought myself a Cuttlebug for embossing (love it!) and was messing around and decided to use my Damask Decor Cartridge to cut out the paper I had embossed.  I think it gives it a cool look.  Here is the supply list:

• 4  1/2 inch square card
• Cardstock by Coredinations and patterned paper by K & Company 
• red stipe and black stripe baker's twine
• VersaMagic Ink in Brick Red
• metal dots from JoLee's
• Words were done on the computer

That's it , it was pretty simple.  The hardest part of the damask decor cart is always gluing down the image...it is like a piece of lace.  I use a spray adhesive from 3M that is photo safe and it works great.   Thanks for taking time to check in! Z-Fold Shirt Card

This was the funnest card to make and it is completely Cricutless!!! GASP!  I know, I was shocked when I got done that I hadn't used it.  I had watched a cool video over at Cardz TV that demo-ed the cutest little shirts for Father's Day Cards.  I have seen these on various other sites but didn't know how on earth they made them.  They are super easy and the shirt is folded out of a 4 x 6 piece of paper.  I started making them out of scraps and had so many that I got the idea for this card....the original poem I made for this card really fit the many shirt varieties I had made.   I needed lots of room so made it into a Z-fold card which was perfect for this project:

That's pretty much all...very simple huh?  the hardest part of this card was getting the poem to fit on the pages (lol) and folding the first couple of shirts...after that  easy, breezy!  You can find this card in the following challenges:

Embossed Butterfly Birthday Card

This sweet, summery Birthday Card was made expressly for Birthday Sundaes CH# 13 - Embossed Birthday Card and for Shabby Tea Room Ch# 66 - Pink Lemonade.

I haven't used my brass embossing plates for many years so decided this was a great excuse to get them out  of the box and hand emboss a beautiful butterfly.  I am in the process of saving up for a Cuttlebug (can't wait to get one!) so had to emboss by hand.  I  thought it was hard to see the embossed butterfly so I lightly brushed some chalk ink over the top of it and LOVED the outcome...though I must admit I was holding my breath the whole time I did it!  Anyway, hope you like it too!  Here are the supplies I used:

• Rhine stones on small butterflys by Heidi Grace
• Cardstock is Core'dinations in Love Potion and plain beige
• Floral paper is from Paper Adventures (Ivory Floral design)
• Cricut Cartridge 'Wrap it Up' used for tag on page 47
• Fiskars paper crimper on rose cardstock
• Small butterfly punch by CARL
• VersaMagic chalk ink in Perfect Plumeria and Spanish Olive
